۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
