And certainly We conferred a favor on Musa and Haroun. 114 and We saved them with their nation from a great distress. 115 And We supported them so it was they who overcame. 116 and We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear; 117 And We guided them on the straight path. 118 And We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon on both of them in the latter (generations), 119 Peace be unto Musa and Harun. 120 This is how We reward the virtuous. 121 Verily the twain were of Our bondmen believing. 122 Elias was certainly a Messenger. 123 Recall what time he said unto his people: fear ye not? 124 Do you call on Ba'lan (the idol Baal) and abandon the Best Creator, 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of yore.” 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 Except the chosen creatures of God. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 We rescued him and his whole family, 134 Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning 137 and by night. Will you not, then, use your reason? 138
