Al-Najm 3 of 3
So did you observe him who turned away? 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
