The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 and gathered his people together 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
