The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 Then those who drive away with reproof, 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 Verily your God is One. 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side. 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 Save him who snatcheth a fragment, and there pursueth him a piercing flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule, 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we (then) verily be resurrected? 16 And also our forefathers? 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
