The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Beneficent 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
