The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
