The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Taught the Quran. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
