He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 and in awe [of God] 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted and purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 and olives and palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
