Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?- 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 noble scribes, 11 They know what you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 [It will be] a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to another human being: for on that Day [it will become manifest that] all sovereignty is God's alone. 19
