The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
