The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created of spurting water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
