AND DO NOT think that God is unaware of what the evildoers are doing: He but grants them respite until the Day when their eyes will stare in horror, 42 (And) they would hasten forward, heads lifted upwards, gazes fixed, and emptied out their hearts. 43 Warn the people of that Day when the punishment would be inflicted upon them. Then will the wicked say: "O our Lord, give us respite a while more. We shall heed Your call and follow the apostles." (But they will be told,): "Are you not those who used to swear: 'There is no reverse for us?' 44 You said so even though you had lived in the dwellings of those who had wronged themselves (by sinning), and you were aware how We dealt with them, and We had even explained to you all this by giving examples. 45 And indeed they carried out their scheme, and their scheming is within Allah’s control; and their scheme was not such that could move these mountains*. (* The revelations / signs of Allah.) 46 So do not deem that God will fail in His promise to His Messengers; surely God is All-mighty, Vengeful. 47 One day the earth will be changed to a different earth, and so will be the heavens, and (men) will be marshalled forth, before Allah, the One, the Irresistible; 48 For on that Day thou wilt see all who were lost in sin linked together in fetters, 49 their garments shall be of melted tar, and their faces enveloped by the Fire. 50 That Allah may requite each person according to what he has earned. Truly, Allah is Swift at reckoning. 51 This is a Message to be delivered to mankind that they may be warned by it, and that they may know that He is One God, and that all possessed of minds may remember. 52
