And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Verily, herein lies a message indeed for all who believe [in God]. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
