A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created all the sexual pairs, of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves, and of that which they know not! 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 And the sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him), the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing. 38 And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. 39 Neither does it lie in the sun's power to overtake the moon nor can the night outstrip the day. All glide along, each in its own orbit. 40 And a sign for them is that We lodged them in a laden ship, while they were in their forefathers backs. 41 And We made similar vessels for them to ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time. 44 When they are told, "guard yourselves against what is before you and what is behind you, in order that you may be shown mercy," [they turn away]. 45 And not a sign cometh unto them of the signs of their Lord, but they are ever backsliders therefrom. 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 Then they cannot make bequest, nor can they return to their own folk. 50
