Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
