No! By the moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mankind, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
