The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
