The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
