The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
