Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 and covered them with torment. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
