In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ya Sin. 1 By oath of the wise Qur’an. 2 Verily thou art of the sent ones, 3 and that you follow the right path. 4 the sending down of the All-mighty, the All-wise, 5 So that you may warn these people whose ancestors were not warned, they are therefore unaware. 6 (I swear) that most of them are doomed to be punished. They have no faith. 7 We have put yokes round their necks right up to their chins, so that their heads are forced up (and they cannot see). 8 and We have put a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and have covered them up, so they are unable to see. 9 The same is it to them whether thou admonish them or thou do not admonish them: they will not believe. 10 You should only warn those who follow the Quran and have fear of the Beneficent God without seeing Him. Give them the glad news of their receiving forgiveness and an honorable reward (from God). 11 Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register. 12

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
