Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
