Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
