The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
