The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
