And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 A curse shall be on you till the Day of Recompense' 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44
