Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
