Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Does their reasoning prompt them to this, or they are a people rebellious? 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they become weighed down in debt? 40 Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 Their deception will not avail them in the least on that day, nor will they be helped. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. 49
