The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and gently take it away; 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
