The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
