When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 Send with us the Children of Isra'il? 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear? 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. 33
