And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 We restored to him his family and like those with them, a mercy from Us and a reminder to a nation that understand. 43 And (it was said unto him): Take in thine hand a branch and smite therewith, and break not thine oath. Lo! We found him steadfast, how excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (to his Lord). 44 Also, remember Our worshipers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, those of might and vision. 45 Verily We! We distinguished them with a distinct quality: the remembrance of the Abode. 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 Recall Ismael, Elisha, and Dhulkifl (Ezekiel) who were all virtuous people. 48 This is a Remembrance; and for the godfearing is a fair resort, 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 wherein they will recline, [and] wherein they may [freely] call for many a fruit and drink, 51 ۞ and wherein there shall be with them well-matched, bashful mates. 52 All this is what you are promised for the Day of Judgement. 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 This is so! And for the Taghun (transgressors, disobedient to Allah and His Messenger - disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, criminals, etc.), will be an evil final return (Fire), 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 and other torments of the like kind coupled together. 58 This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire. 59 (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
