So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
