Al-Dukhaan 3 of 3
Indeed the tree of Zaqqum, – 43 Is the food of the sinful 44 Like dregs of oil; it shall boil in (their) bellies, 45 Like the boiling of scalding water. 46 "Seize him and drag him into the depths of Hell," (it will be said), 47 Then pour upon his head the torment of boiling water. 48 "Taste it," (they will be told). "You were indeed the mighty and noble! 49 This is the torment that you persistently doubted". 50 Verily the God-fearing shall be in a secure place 51 In gardens and springs; 52 Dressed in fine silk and (also) in thick silk, facing each other, 53 Thus (shall it be), and We will wed them with Houris pure, beautiful ones. 54 They will call therein for every kind of fruit in peace and security; 55 They will not taste death therein, except the first death; and He will preserve them from the torment of the Flaming Fire. 56 As bounty from your Lord. That is what is the great attainment. 57 Verily, We have made this (Qur'an) easy, in thy tongue, in order that they may give heed. 58 Wait then (O Muhammad). Lo! they (too) are waiting. 59

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
