Thamud gave the lie to the warnings, 23 And they said: a mere human being from amongst us, and single! shall we follow him! verily then we should fall in error and madness. 24 Has the reminder been made to light upon him from among us? Nay! he is an insolent liar! 25 (To him We said): 'Tomorrow they shall know who is the arrogant liar. 26 We are sending to them as a trial, a shecamel, so watch them and have patience. 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 But they called their companion who took hold of her and hamstrung her. 29 How was then My punishment of which they had been warned? 30 Verily We, We sent upon them one shout, and they became as the stubble of a fold-builder. 31 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 32 The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings. 33 We sent down upon them a violent sandstorm (which destroyed them all) except for the family of Lot, whom We saved in the early morning by Our favor. 34 through Our Mercy. So it is that We recompense the thankful. 35 And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! 36 And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 37 One early morning Our torment brought upon them utter destruction. 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
