The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
