The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
