Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 we are the rangers, 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
