Do you not see how your Lord stretches the shadow? Had it been His will, He could have made it constant. Then He appointed the sun to be a guide to it; 45 Then We hold it in hand for a brief grasp. 46 It is He who has appointed the night a mantle for you and sleep for a rest. The day He has appointed for rising. 47 It is He who sends the winds with auspicious news in advance of His benevolence; and We send pure water down from the sky 48 so that We might revive a dead land, and give to drink of it, of that We created, cattle and men a many. 49 We present the same phenomenon over and over again before them so that they may learn a lesson from it; but most people decline to adopt any other attitude than of disbelief and ingratitude. 50 And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner. 51 So obey not the unbelievers, but struggle with them thereby mightily. 52 ۞ And it is He who hath mixed the two seas: this, sweet and thirst quenching; that, saltish and bitter; and hath placed between the twain a barrier and a great partition complete. 53 And it is He who created the human from water and gave him kindred of blood and of marriage. Your Lord is the Powerful. 54 Yet they worship besides God that which can neither benefit them nor harm them. One who denies the truth is a helper [of evil] against his Lord. 55 And We have not sent you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) except as a Herald of glad tidings and warnings. 56 Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way." 57 And put thy trust in Him Who lives and dies not; and celebrate his praise; and enough is He to be acquainted with the faults of His servants;- 58 Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods, and He is firmly established on the throne of authority; the Beneficent Allah, so ask respecting it one aware. 59 But when they are told, 'Bow yourselves to the All-merciful,' they say, 'And what is the All-merciful? Shall we bow ourselves to what thou biddest us?' And it increases them in aversion. ۩ 60
