By the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to humankind, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
True are the words of God the Almighty.
