Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is it timed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 Till an appointed term, 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 as black camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
