The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and gently take it away; 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 you pay attention 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
