The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night swarming, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
