The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
