Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the sky and the night comer - 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and is no idle tale. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
