A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 (People), follow whatever is revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other guardians besides Him. However, you pay very little attention (to Our words) 3 How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: 4 Then naught was their cry when Our violence came upon them save that they said: verily we have been the wrong-doers. 5 Thus, [on Judgment Day] We shall most certainly call to account all those unto whom a [divine] message was sent, and We shall most certainly call to account the message-bearers [themselves]; 6 So indeed We shall inform them with Our knowledge and We were not absent. 7 And the weighing will be just on that Day. Then those whose (deeds) are heavier in the balance will find fulfilment, 8 And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light those are they who have made their souls suffer loss because they disbelieved in Our communications. 9 We assuredly established you in the earth and arranged for your livelihood in it. Little do you give thanks. 10
