The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On lined couches, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And shade extended 30 Gushing water, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 for the people of the right hand 38
