Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known extent. 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
