The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news - 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 a fitting requital, 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
