The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
